Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal lash out at the arrest of his aide Bibhav Kumar over alleged assault accusations by AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal. Kejriwal accuses the central government of targeting his party and announces a protest at the BJP headquarters. Here’s the latest on the unfolding political drama:

In a video statement, Kejriwal criticizes the arrest, highlighting a series of actions against AAP members: “You can see how they are after AAP. They first put Manish Sisodia in jail, then they went behind me, and now my PA,” he asserted.

Kejriwal directs his message to the Prime Minister, accusing the government of orchestrating a political vendetta: “You are playing this ‘jail ka khel’… Tomorrow, I am coming to the BJP HQ with all my top leaders, MLAs, MPs at 12 noon. You can put in jail whoever you want.”

The arrest of Kejriwal’s aide Bibhav Kumar follows allegations by Swati Maliwal, who claims she was assaulted at the CM’s residence. AAP retaliates, alleging BJP’s manipulation, citing Maliwal’s corruption case.

BJP MP Manoj Tiwari responds to Kejriwal’s call for protest, stating that arrests are conducted by investigative agencies, not the BJP. Tiwari emphasizes zero tolerance towards crime and asserts that assaulting a woman will result in punishment.

Swati Maliwal’s allegations against Kumar include physical assault during her visit to the CM’s residence. The police have recorded statements from witnesses present during the alleged incident.

Bibhav Kumar, in response, files a complaint accusing Maliwal of breaching security and creating a disturbance at the CM’s residence on the same day.
